Uberjam @ Crocodile Lounge 3.21.09

Uberjam was insane!! The lounge was packed with partypeople tearing up the dancefloor. Dj's Trew, Mass Transit and Rippin Ray held it down on the tables all night long. Prime hosted and kept the party hype until they kicked us all out @ closing time. Shouts to everyone who came through, especially DJ Trew and Groundliftmag.com, Jugrnaut (Artie Mcfly), alwayzofficial, hand2hand, formula werks, and njs4e. Thanks for making this dope event possible!!

Chi-city Skyline

Dr. Who, Abu.chi, Sideshow, 1993, and Lo-Key Chops @ the Darkroom hosted by B. Vax 3.18.09

Headed out to Darkroom on Wednesday to see some of my Armory Fam perform live. Abu.chi, DJ Illanoiz, DJ MozDefinite, Recksick, and Custom were in the building. DJ Illa and DJ MozDefinite killed it all nite long on some back and forth live turntable styles. 1993 seamlessly blended their microphone mastery into a very high energy set followed by an impressive freestyle session. Abu.chi brought his raw Chicago-centric lyrics to the stage with a polished swagger backed by Sideshow's perfectly placed adlibs. At the end of the set Sideshow spit an acapella and completely murdered it. Dr Who was the final act of the night and provided a seriously live and commanding presence onstage. He was decked out in a circa WWI army helmet complete with leather jacket, Doc Marten boots, fatigues, and a pair of binoculars. Not your typical hip hop attire. He also brought an atypical style to the mic that was refreshing. All in all a good night. Shouts to every one in attendence. Saint Paddys Day!!!!

Saint Paddy's Day is by far one of my favorite holidays. I'd say its in a tight 3 way tie with Halloween and Festivus. I'm Irish and I have no idea who or what St Paddy is or ever did, but I love my guinness, and I love daytime drinking. I had so much fun this year being on the Pub Crawl with my girl, my cousins and the good people @ Diageo. I think we hit 4-5 pubs(my memory is a little bit hazy towards the end) drank guinness at everyone and got shuttled in between on a private bus. Thanks to everyone involved in the planning and execution of the tour and I cant wait for next year. Slainte!!

DJ Rootz @ the Metro

My boy DJ Rootz was in town this weekend to play the STS9 afterparty at the metro. It was thrown by silver wrapper and Pretty Lights was also on the bill. Rootz threw down and got the party movin. Pretty Lights followed up with a dope set that had the capacity crowd rocking until the early morning. Good times.

Dinner with Knute and Evelia

Knute and Evelia invited Christina and I over for dinner on Friday. It was a delicious meal and Im having a hard time remembering what everything was because Knute brews his own Belgian beer and its very tasty and very strong. Oh yeah, he also brews his own mead. First time I've ever had mead and I'm definitely a fan. It made me feel strong like Viking.

Kex Won Bday Bash @ Beef and Brandy

Happy Bday to my boy Kex. Although the party didnt exactly turn out the way it was planned I still had a good time kickin it with the fellas. The downstairs was dope and DJ Illanoiz and DJ MozDefinite held it down on the 1's and 2's. Shouts to Armory Massive, CSP, Graphic Nature, The Knomadz, Bose, and SME!!!

Dilla Tribute set @ Subt's with DJs Trew, Pickel, Maker and Wes Restless

New photos from the Dilla Tribute set by DJ's Trew, Pickel, Maker and Wes Restless. The set was fiyah!! bump bump bump. If you missed it you better hope they do it again. It was that good. My only regret is that I didnt get to stay for the rest of the show. I had to go shoot BIG FUN @ crocodile lounge (see the previous post). I was kinda salty I didnt get to see Exile. Armory Clothing Shoot

I did a little impromptu photoshoot for Armory Skateboards, Rebel 8 clothing, and Cardboard Robot. It was lots of fun. We laughed the whole time and kept it hot with the sun gun. DJ Rabu and Daniel the Manual modeled while Recksick and Custom provided laughs, lighting stands, heinekens and cashews. I took the pictures. Good stuff. Albany Park stand up!!
